History

The family of António Maria dos Santos has been producing Red and White Wines, in the Lisbon Region (west coast of Portugal) for three generations.

In 2001, in order to enchance and develop our ancestors work, Sociedade Vitivinicola do Formigal, Lda, was formed to breathe new life and direction into their wine making.

The good quality of the grapes is an essential condition for the development of quality wines, but not the only one. It is essential to control the way of transporting the grapes, select them, control the vats where the wine ferments, perform necessary operations of winemaking and decide how long the wine will be on stage.
